The Lords Commrs: of his Matys: Treary desire You to prepare & lay before their Lordps a State of the Gold & Silver Coins of this Kingdom both as to their Weight & Fineness with the Difference in Value between a Guinea & 21sh: & 6d in Silver together with Your Observations & Opinion And their Lordps being Informed yt. great Quantities of Silver Coins are melted by sevl: ꝑsons for their private Lucre contrary to Law dto direct You to propose what Method you think will be most Effectual for preventing & discouraging that evil practice I am &c 12 Augt. 1717
