Whereas Ieremiah Skingley Clerk to the Warden of Our Mint is lately dead. And Wee being graciously pleased to appoint George Foord to succeed him in that Imployment Do hereby Constitute and appoint him the said George Foord to be Clerk to the Warden of Our Mint now and for the time being, hereby directing and Commanding the said George Foord to Observe and Obey the Orders and directions of Our High Treasurer or Commissioners of Our Treasury for the time being in the performance of the Trust hereby reposed in him, And for the reward and Encouragement of the said George Foord in the said Service, Wee give and grant unto him the like yearly Salary of Forty Poundes as was allowed unto the said Ieremiah Skingley to be paid by equall Quarterly payments, And to commence from the death of the said Ieremiah Skingley, and to continue during Our Pleasure, And if the said George Foord shall happen to dye or be removed from the said Imployment after any of the said Quarters and before another day of payment shall incurr, then the said Salary shall be computed by the day and paid from the time of his last payment during so many daies as he shall have served in the said Imployment. And Wee do hereby Authorize and Command the Master and Worker of Our Mint from time to time to pay the said Salary out of Our Money in his hands, And that the Auditors of the Imprests and all others concerned do allow such payments upon Account. For which this or the Entry thereof shall be to them and every of them a sufficient Warrant Given at Our Court at St. James's the 19th March 170 In the seaventh year of Our Reigne
