Middx Ss. The Deposition of Richard Angell of Black Fryers Silversmith taken upon Oath this 16.th May 1706.
This Deponent Saith that about 6. months agoe One Thom.s Frott alias Carter told him this Said Deponent that he the said Carter Coynd Counterfeit Lewisdores, and exchang'd of them for English Money to the vallue of 12. and sometimes 14. pounds sterling a day. This Deponent further sayes that he is credibly Inform'd the said Carter carry's on the trade of coyning at this time in the town of Brentford, but in what house this Deponent knows not.[Editorial Note 1] Capt. et jurat an et die suꝑdict coram me J.
