Memd the Lre is of the 3d of Novr

1716 from Edinburgh that Doctor Brandshagen

arrived there abt a fortnight before the Date, where

Sr Iohn Erskine is also arrived and offers to go

and shew where the mine is immediately. But

the Doctr says he cannot proceed on the tryal

or Iourney for want of Money that Mr

Drummond has advanced to him 16li Sterling

for his immediate Subsistance and that of the

Hamilton's, and sends this Accot. that it may

be seen how this Affair stands there.
